LANXESS inorganic pigment product wins Ringier Technology Innovation Awards

May 9, 2014, Shanghai – LANXESS Bayferrox® 303 T has won the 2014 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Coating Industry for its extreme heat stability and low flocculation behavior.

This is the second time LANXESS Inorganic Pigments business unit has been honored for this award after its Colortherm® Yellow 10 Pigment was awarded in 2011.

“We feel honored to receive this award again. As a leading player in the inorganic pigments industry, we are committed to developing innovative technology and supporting customers with premium products,” said Rafael Suchan, Vice President for the Inorganic Pigments business unit for Asia Pacific. Iron oxide pigments from LANXESS have been manufactured in Germany since 1926 and are well-established and valued by customers all over the world. “With a track record of over 88 years, we will continue to contribute to the development of China’s coating industry with our expertise and technology know-how.”

Bayferrox® 303 T, a synthetic black manganese ferrite, is modified with a certain amount of manganese oxide, enabling it with extraordinary heat stability well above 500°C without changing the color under this circumstance. Because of its exceptional advantages, it fulfills the highest requirements necessary in the paints and coatings industry. This high performance pigment is the first choice when heat stability is required in applications such as powder or coil coatings. It also features low flocculation behavior, differentiating it from regular black ferrite.

Like all LANXESS premium pigment products which are marketed under the brand names of Bayferrox® and Colortherm ®, Bayferrox 303T displays outstanding light fastness, tinting strength, color consistency as well as weather stability.

China has already become the world’s largest consumer and the biggest production base for the coatings industry. The urbanization megatrend in China and increasing demands for higher quality products are expected to continue propelling the growth of China’s coatings market.
