Colored plaster for internal and external use

Red, Yellow, Brown, Green or Black with various color shades in between. Bayferrox® and Colortherm® pigments offer numerous opportunities for the coloring of plaster

Whether for buildings of historical interest or for new buildings which stand out from their surroundings, colored render containing  LANXESS inorganic pigments is ideal for both refurbishment work and for new buildings.

Pigments from the product ranges Bayferrox® and Colortherm® enable durable coloring of cement-based and lime-based plasters. They are stable to cement and lime and resistant to light and weather. The pigments do not affect the plaster's setting behavior or interfere with the effects of commonly used additives like methyl cellulose, zinc stearate, or plastic powder.

Inorganic LANXESS pigments are offered in the base colors red, orange, yellow, green, brown and black. Since any pigment can be mixed with any other, it is possible to create a wide variety of additional hues. Although it is mainly the pigment that accounts for the resultant shade, the natural color of the binder does play a role. The same plaster mixes will show different shades depending on whether white or grey cement is used.

Cement-based and lime-based plasters are light by nature. That's why the shades of pigmented plasters, even of those with gray cement as binder, will resemble those you find in the "white cement" section of our Shade Card. The composition of the binder can have a significant impact on the final color. In plaster formulations with gray cement, the addition of hydrated lime generally has a lightening effect. For that reason, the final color should be determined by a series of trials using exactly the same materials (binder, aggregates, and additives) as will be the case in production.
